Ok guys I’ve always heard everyone raving about what a powerful program Photoshop is and I’ve seen some pretty cool stuff done with it. But in all honesty my only experience with it was making a fake ID back when I was 18! I have no idea what version of PS it was but since I am 28 now, some quick math tells me 10-11 years ago! BTW the fake ID worked a few times 😉
Ok well if you have seen the latest homepage of www.TheTaleofMatt.com you can see that things are starting to look like an actual site with real images and stuff not just some crud slapped on a page. Even though I still have a lot of work to go before anything is complete i thought I’d share with you some of the challenges I’ve met with DW and how I managed to curtail them.
We are back!
Hey everyone its been 7 days since my last post and I know thats a long time when you’re only working with 30 days total!
But just because I havent ben posting dosnt mean that I havent been working. In fact the rason that I havent posted in 30 days is that I’ve been working so hard that I havent had time.
Guy I need some help! Im in a creative slump.
I think all the pressure to learn and use Adobe CS5 in such a short time span has mushed my creativity. This is strange because you would think it would inspire it, but right now Im faceing an overload of option and CSS struggles.
Horray! In the last few days I’ve been getting slammed. With Mothers Day, CS5 in 30 Days Project, 100 Miles In May (I’m also running 100 miles in the month of May), playin softball, prepping for grad school and just tryin to be a good dad, I havent had much time to think, much less Blog about the headway we’ve made. But Alas im happy to report that www.TheTaleofMatt.com is now live thanks to Dreamweaver!
This weekend I got a crash course in HTML, CSS as well as Adobe DW CS5 and to tell the truth its been great. I’ve really tried learning HTML and CSS in the past, reading tutorials checking out book from the library etc, but it just never quite sank and I’ll admit there was a lack of being able to practice what I was learning. Dreamweaver CS5 miraculously makes up for all of this! I am quickly discovering that DW is a great way to learn how to code.
If we are going to build a website the 1st Adobe CS5 Application we need to figure our is Most likely Dreamweaver (DW).
(I’d like to hear your thoughts on this)
Dreamweaver is a WYSIWYG or a “What You See Is What You Get” application. These programs are used for building and creating websites and apps (like on your iPhone). The cool thing about these is that you dont need to know any programming language to “Code” the site. You simply drag and drop pictures and elements (like forms) into the application and then tell Dreamweaver (or WYSIWYG) what you want it to do with it. Dreamweaver then simultaneously writes all the code for you.
Hey Everyone, Im sure you are all a bit curious to know whats new!
I can here you saying…”Ok he started this thing…is he going to do anything?”
Well your answer is yes! Over the last few days I’ve been swamped and done quite a bit of running in circles and pacing back and forth in my office. I honestly feel like a guy who always brags about how good he can sing, or how he used to be front man in that Buddy Holly Tribute Band (what you dont know that guy?) and then all the sudden someone finally get tired of hearing it and calls him out to sing karaoke! So now Im up on stage, under the lights and thinking to my self…damn I wish I could think of how just one Buddy Holly song started! eek (que the crickets lol)
